About these Terms and Conditions
In connection with the planning of the ACURIL 2026 Conference to be held at the Caribe Hilton Hotel, San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC ACURIL), in compliance with applicable legal provisions and with the objective of ensuring transparency, security, and protection of participants’ personal data, hereby issues this document entitled “Terms and Conditions.” This document shall govern the legal relationships between LOC ACURIL and users, participants, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, and other interested parties, as well as the policies regarding registration, payment, refunds, and the processing of personal data.
Article 1 | Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions
By accessing and using the ACURIL Conference website (hereinafter, the “website”), as well as by registering for and participating in the ACURIL 2026 Conference in any of its modalities (in-person, virtual, or hybrid), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with these “Terms and Conditions,” the “Privacy Policy,” and the “Code of Conduct,” as well as all applicable laws and regulations.
If you do not agree with any of these terms, you must refrain from using the website, registering, or participating in the Conference.
Continued use of the website and/or participation in the Conference after the publication of modifications constitutes acceptance of such updates.
Article 2 | Definitions
For purposes of interpretation and application of these “Terms and Conditions,” the following definitions are established:

In case of doubt regarding the scope, meaning, or application of any provision contained in these “Terms and Conditions,” it shall be interpreted in a manner that promotes clarity, inclusiveness, and the purpose of this document, always seeking consistency with the objectives of the ACURIL Conference and the ACURIL organization.
In the event of a conflict between provisions, the one that best ensures compliance with the guiding principles of the event and the protection of participants’ rights shall prevail, without prejudice to the applicable law.
In the event of a conflict between language versions, the text in Spanish will prevail.
Article 4 | Applicability
These “Terms and Conditions” apply to all activities related to the ACURIL 2026 Conference, including the use of the official website, the in-person event, virtual or hybrid activities, and any interaction related to registration, participation, sponsorship, or exhibition. These terms are mandatory for sponsors, exhibitors, participants, users, and accompanying persons, whether natural or legal persons.
Article 5 | Registration Policy
Access to the ACURIL 2026 Conference will only be permitted with a valid and paid registration. Credentials will not be sent by mail; they must be collected at the registration desk upon arrival at the event venue.
By registering, the participant or accompanying person guarantees that the information provided is truthful, complete, and up to date. If you are registering another person, ensure that they read the “Terms and Conditions” before completing the process.
A detailed description of what each registration category includes will be published on the ACURIL Conference website.
Participants may purchase special passes (add-ons) for accompanying persons who will not participate in the Conference’s Academic Program; prices and detailed descriptions will be published on the website.
ACURIL and LOC ACURIL reserve the right to suspend accounts that fail to comply with this and other applicable Articles of these “Terms and Conditions.” LOC ACURIL reserves the right of admission to the in-person event and may request evidence to verify the category acquired by the user.
Article 6 | Payment Policy
Prices published on the website are in United States dollars (USD) and apply per person. The payment made corresponds exclusively to the registered person, and credentials may not be shared among different individuals.
Registrations received without payment will be suspended until payment is confirmed. Payment must be made in full before the start of the ACURIL Conference to guarantee entry to the event.

NOTE: The participant is responsible for covering any bank charges or transaction fees. ACURIL and LOC ACURIL will not assume additional costs generated by the chosen payment method.
Article 7 | Cancellation and Refund Policy
Our Refund Policy is established as follows:
No refunds will be issued for non-attendance at the event or for circumstances beyond the control of ACURIL or LOC ACURIL.

Article 8 | Sponsors and Exhibitors
The “Terms and Conditions” applicable to sponsors and exhibitors of the ACURIL 2026 Conference shall be governed by the specific terms of the purchased package, according to the selected category published on the website.
Any refund will only be subject to circumstances in which LOC ACURIL cannot fulfill the conditions established in the contracted package, excluding causes beyond the control of ACURIL and the Local Organizing Committee, such as force majeure, natural disasters, pandemics, social conflicts, and other unforeseeable situations.
Failure by the sponsor or exhibitor to comply with the rules established in these “Terms and Conditions” or in the specific contract may result in the cancellation of their participation without the right to a refund.
Article 9 | Confirmation
All users will receive a registration confirmation and/or payment receipt by email to the address provided during the registration process.
If you do not receive confirmation within 72 hours after completing registration and payment, you must contact info@acurilconference.org in writing to verify the status of your registration.
It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the email address provided is correct and to check their junk or spam folder.
Article 10 | Intellectual Property
All content on the website, including texts, images, graphics, logos, videos, documents, and any other material, is the property of ACURIL or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright, intellectual property, and trademark laws.
The reproduction, distribution, modification, transmission, publication, or any other unauthorized use of the content is strictly prohibited without prior written consent from ACURIL.
Use of the content for personal, informational, and non-commercial purposes is permitted only to the extent that no copyright, intellectual property, or trademark notices are altered, removed, or modified.
Article 11 | Privacy Policy
ACURIL and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC ACURIL) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. The information you provide during registration and use of the website will be used solely for purposes related to the organization and management of the ACURIL 2026 Conference.

Article 12 | Limitation of Liability

Article 14 | Promotional Activities
Promotion, distribution, or sale of products and services during the ACURIL Conference at the event venue is not permitted, except in cases expressly authorized for sponsors and exhibitors in accordance with the terms of the purchased package.
Likewise, unauthorized promotional activities are prohibited in common areas, academic sessions, official event social media, or any channel linked to the ACURIL Conference.
Failure to comply with this provision may result in cancellation of participation in the event without the right to a refund.
Article 15 | Consent for use of images, audio, and Video
By registering and participating in the ACURIL Conference, the participant grants express, informed, and irrevocable consent for ACURIL and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC ACURIL) to capture, reproduce, and use their image, voice, and/or participation in photographs, audio recordings, and videos taken during the event, in any of its modalities (in-person, virtual, or hybrid).
This material may be used, without temporal or territorial limitation, for institutional, promotional, educational, and archival purposes related to ACURIL, in any media, including social networks, websites, printed and digital publications, without generating any right to financial compensation or remuneration.
The participant waives any claim regarding the use of their image, voice, or participation as provided herein.
Article 16 | Amendments
ACURIL and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC ACURIL) reserve the right to modify, update, or supplement these “Terms and Conditions” at any time. Such modifications will be published on the official website and will take effect immediately upon publication.
Continued use of the website and/or participation in the Conference after the publication of modifications implies acceptance of the new terms by the participant.
Article 17 | Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These “Terms and Conditions” shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising in connection with the interpretation, performance, or enforcement of these terms shall be submitted exclusively to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Pre-litigation Procedure:
Before initiating any legal action, the participant must submit their claim in writing to info@acurilconference.org, including:
ACURIL and LOC ACURIL commit to respond within 30 calendar days from receipt of the claim. If a satisfactory resolution is not achieved, the claimant may proceed before the competent courts as provided in this Article.
Article 18 | Severability Clause
If any provision of these “Terms and Conditions” is declared null, illegal, or unenforceable by a competent court, such provision shall be deemed severable from the rest of the document, without affecting the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall remain in full force and effect.
