Loyda Nieves Ayala

Dear ACURIL Members, Colleagues, Exhibitors, and Friends,

It is with great joy and deep commitment that I send you a warm greeting in my role as President of the Caribbean University, Research, and Institutional Libraries Association (ACURIL) 2025–2026.

It is a true privilege and honor to invite you to reunite in Puerto Rico during our 55th Annual ACURIL Conference, to be held from June 7 to 11, 2026, at the historic and welcoming Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan.

This gathering, which transcends borders, will be a unique opportunity to strengthen connections, share experiences, and collectively envision the future of our libraries, archives, and museums. Under the central theme:
“Libraries, Archives, and Museums on the Frontline: Advocacy, Innovation, and Sustainability,” we will reflect on the transformative role of our institutions as engines of social development, guardians of cultural memory, and champions of equitable access to knowledge.

During our discussions, we will highlight how Caribbean libraries, archives, and museums drive social development and community growth; how, with vision and purpose, they shape the future; how innovation in new services transforms these institutions into vibrant community hubs; and how we move from collections to connections, adapting creatively and sustainably to the challenges of today and tomorrow.

The Puerto Rico Local Organizing Committee is already working enthusiastically to provide us with an unforgettable ACURIL experience, full of learning, innovation, and opportunities for collaboration.

I invite you to be part of this collective journey, where every voice matters and every experience enriches. It will be an honor to welcome you to San Juan and share moments that will undoubtedly mark the history of our professional community.

With warm regards and hope,

Loyda Nieves Ayala
